Mon. Jan. 4, 2016: Introduction to Canadian Plays and Reminder about Deadline

Today, I reminded you that your deadline for the independent novel study is on Wednesday. This is a deadline that you have been aware of for four months. The latest I will accept it is 4:30 pm on that date.

I then instructed you to pull out your Canadian Themes sheet. We reviewed this in relation to Canadian plays. I then gave you the handout entitled "Defining Characterization." We read it actively and then you did the activity as indicated on the sheet.

I then gave you the handout entitled "How to Read a Play: Worksheet." We read this in order to familiarize you with the instructions so that when you have to do it with a reading, it will not be unfamiliar.

I then gave you the reading, an excerpt from Monkeyshines, to read actively. This is to be completed for the end of the class. My goal is to review it tomorrow and address a number of the questions.
